Moab! May 31-June 2, 2002

I am still planning on going... but I may be going with the pavement pounders on some of the scenic runs rather then doing hard-core off-roading. Either that or I'll be riding passenger and playing the part of co-pilot/spotter.
Don't know why, but I haven't really been in the mood to do much hard-core off-roading lately...

You mean you still have an Explorer?:p

still have the explorer... been talking off and on with a few people who have been interested in buying itbut so far no one has come up with the money.

Speaking of selling Explorers... I was talking to Godspeed the guy who bought Jack Lobdell's Explorer. I mentioned that his wife had a hard time selling it for what it was worth and that he got a good deal.

The last I heard she was selling it for 6k. Well, I guess he didn't want to mention to me that he is trying to get 14.5k out of it on E-bay now!!

holy crap! Who the heck is going to pay that much for it? I realize its a nice explorer and all but damn...can buy a used explorer and build it up for that much :).

So when are you lowering your X, Matt. I mean if you're not going to wheel it, you might as well join the Sport group. You know, there is wheeling other than hard core. You can do some of the easier trails. At least the POOOOOR X won't be embarrassed! :D

I don't know what's wrong with all these people. Buy an X fix it up then sell it or don't take it off road. What the heck did you build it for? ;)

Rick and Char, Yes we are planning on moving to phoenix feb of 2003. I am actually kinda counting down the days. And as for wheeling, I will be ready to go any day. I think I am going to come to Moab. I will know by the first part of this week. I will probably pull it there w/ my brothers F-150 as I wont be able to have my 1994 tow explorer regeared to tow in time.

If you are choicing between Moab and anything you better pick MOAB!!!!
When you get back home you will still be trying to figure out how to explain what you saw.

Even the stock runs well get you sights that are just hard to believe.

We have three here that say you go to Moab!!!!

I wont be doing the stocker runs. I have 35's locked front and rear. I will probably go w/ the middle group.

The question wasn't what runs you were going to do, but if you should go and I was just saying it doesn't matter what trail you do as long as you GO TO MOAB!!!!!!!

MOAB, MOAB, MOAB!!!!

Both Dina and I are leaning towards Moab now. I will see if I can get 2 more days off for the drive there. I am a collector so the end of the month is sometimes real hard to get off.  We are both requesting the extra days tomorrow so I will know then. Looks like Moab here we come.

Hope to see you out there Brian, I'd like to finally meet ya in person...

Personally, I'm just counting the days...Only 19 days till my baby gets lifted, and only about 2 months till Moab...oh man, this is gonna be a good year :D

Well I turned in my revised request off form to include the 2 more days needed for the trip. I really need to know where some of you decided to stay and what not. I have never been. You can email me so we dont get off topic on this thread. I cant wait.

Hey Brian,
You won't regreat going to Moab. See ya there.:bounce:

I know. I have already been dreaming of the BFG's on the rock surface for the first time at Moab. I get a smile like its the first step on the moon. :) I think I will be staying at the campgrounds where Rick is staying.

Canyonlands has no cabins left for the dates we will be in Moab.

I have my reservations at the KOA.

This thread is huge!
Can anyone point me to a page that has the general information on this trip. Please!

Kris... What is the cost a night? Do you have there # off hand? Thanks
