More flexible coil spring options for SL 5.5

Well I have done the research with no solid answers. I dont want to do EB coils because that would require fab work according to posts I read. My questions are below.

1. What if I use the Skyjacker 6" coils? I heard they sag and you end up with 4".

2. Sky jacker 8" coils? If they are soft, will they sag enough to keep me around 6"?

3. What about Jeep lift coils? I have heard of people using those, but again I dont want to deal with sag.

I think most of the Ford lift spring are right around the same spring rate. So the 6" springs would take just as long to "sag" to 4" as it will take your 5.5" to sage to 4", and the same thing with the 8" to 6".
I know the jeeps are softer but wouldn't know what size lift springs to tell you to get to be around the 6" that you want.

I read that the SL springs were around 450 to 500# where as the Skyjackers were 350. The threads that I have read say the Skyjackers sag due to the softer spring rate whereas the Super lift springs dont sag as much. I seem to have crappy flex in the front with the SL springs and I heard the Skyjackers allow for better flex. I have also seen some jeep springs which are progressive rate. I just want to try and maintain my hieght and get more flex. Thanks for the reply.

If the Skys are 100# softer then I would say go for the 6". I don't have the personal experience with them but I doubt they'll sag that much or that fast. My 4" TrailMaster springs were pretty soft and didn't sag much at all.

I liked the 6" sky jackers I had on my 86 ranger. They seamed to flex well for a TTB truck with stock radius arms. I didnt run the superlifts so I cant compare to those.

No TTB coil is that soft, but Skyjacker coils are probably your best bet. The Superstiffs are just that, STIFF.

My 2" Skyjacker coils have sagged to about a 1.25-1.5"... they are really soft.

I have also seen a couple Ex's on here with the 6" SJ lift and thier fornt end sags a little as well.

I would definately get the 8" coils, at first you wont be able to align it, but after a couple of weeks the coils really settle down and you'll probly be right at about 6-6.5"s of lift.

the trs guys swear by 3" lift XJ coils, 240PPI and fit with jeep coil pads and new j-clips.

Dont forget that you may need new shocks or limiting straps.

Well thanks for all the input. I am considering putting a winch up front as well so maybe the 8" coils would be better. As for alignment, my balljoints were shot and it caused some bad wear in the front. My front tire tread goes from 1/8" on the inside to 1/2 to 3/4 outside. I was planning on replacing them anyway. As for down travel, I think I may need limiting straps.

Josh what about a set of custom cut and turned traction beams. From what Ive read and heard you can get more than a foot of travel.
