For those of you who are interested I found a web page that sells bent I-beams for the 4WD Explorer at $345 a pair. The web page is www.prerun.com. They make a complete 5" lift kit including springs, Radius Arms, I-beams, and the rest. You can also buy the parts seperately.

I have a few questions that some of the suspension Gurus around here might be able to answer. They are all in reference to a 5" lift.

First, which is better I-beams or brackets? Would it be worth the money to buy the I-beams?

Second, Rick your specs on your truck say 3.5" Rough Country Brackets...Is that true..? do you still have 5.5" How much did they cost?

Third, the guy at the place above recommended Bilstein shocks, but I don't know how nice those would be on road. I was thinking of buying RS9000s since I would be able to adjust them, and they are on a buy 3 get 1 free deal right now.

Fourth, I'm not sure what type of springs to get. The place above sells Eibach Springs for $180, which seemed expensive. I have also heard people talking about National Springs, and of course Superlift. Which ones are best/your fav/work best?

Fifth, Brake lines..? Is superlift the only company to make them, and do they do it best?

As far as the rest of the lift, for the back I plan on Superlifts Spring over, and I am going to fab my own Radius Arms and see how that works before I buy them.

My driving consists of having this as a daily driver, and pretty hard weekends when I have the time. My four-bying is mud and bumps, which is why I thought I-beams might be the way to go. Any advice would be welcomed, since many of you have more experience at this thna I do.
Thanks,
Mat
