I am enjoying my 17 X Sport 3.5 Ecoboost! I put some cross bars on the roof, have some mud flaps coming, and am looking for a good catch can.

The Supercharger is now at $3,000. There is no reserve, and if it doesn't sell I am keeping it!

It includes:

$260 4 blower pulleys; 3-11/16", 3-1/2", 3-1/4" & 3"

$150 NEW 90mm Lightning MAF

$700 NEW - Snow Performance 2.5 Meth/H2O kit with boost gauge and large tank remote mount kit.

$200 NEW Innovate wideband O2 sensor with gauge

Well, the Blower sold, an end of an era for me.........................I don't even want to start and don't think I will molest the new to me 2017 sport. I did put the old PVC oil catch can on it and installed mud flaps.

I do see that they get better performance with the Snow Kit installed on these 3.5 Ecoboost with a tune..........................and I have a wideband O2 with gauge................................................Naw, Naw, NO! I'm done, but not ruling-out a newer Gen 6 Explorer, maybe an ST, down the road, if lucky enough for it to happen.

I wrestled the Torque Monsters Headers of and put them on Ebay. That was a lot for me now.

Congrats on the blower sale. Those of us here that are able will continue to carry the torch! Appreciate all your contributions here!

Wow, sorry to see it turn out like this but when you modify something so much it just takes reliability away. I can relate, now I own a stock 22 ST and most likely will keep it that way since it's the family vehicle .

OT - What type of horsepower are the 22 STs putting out now. How do you like it?

Well,................. It was reliable.
It was my daily and our vehicle of choice for years, skiing, ripping from 5,800 to 9500 and camping trips.

It wasn't until a recent full pull at over 8lbs on a cool morning that I believe ballooned the TC. I was trying to get a baseline before I installed the spray kit. I noticed the starter hitting the flex plate funny or not so funny, then it started overfueling, I checked everything and then found the tuner had a wire loose, after fixing it it would not take a tune. So it was dumping fuel in thinking the injectors were stock as the tuner was not working. The starter engagement got worse and it wouldn't turn over. At a minimum it needed a better transmission built for 550ftlb+, and likely a starter, plus a new tuner and it still needed a bigger exhaust. . Went like heck up the Mtn passes, but only got 10mpg, towing a 1000lbs teardrop camp trailer up them.......................................................

I feel very comfortable in my newer 2017 X. It has all the comforts.

It is a bit slower, but not much, and that is only up to 60MPH, then the new X outpulls the Ex, X.

An ST would be very sweet, but I also see perhaps an F150 regular cab, short bed, 4X4, with boosted Coyote in the future......................I will be around.

She is out waiting for the tow truck...............................she's going to a local yard and then.................Oh the horror of being shredded and scrapped!

I am getting paid a little bit to haul her off.

Another one bites the dust.jpg

I know your pain. It was a very sad day when I sold the KB 2200 blower and Flowzilla/Blowzilla manifolds that was on my '89 LX. I miss all the torque it made at any RPM.

It has almost double the HP as a stock 5.0 explorer. It's quick in stock form but mods and tune change that quickly. On the other hand I can almost guarantee it won't make it to 200k without a major issue unlike the old 5.0. Ive had it 1.5 years and don't even have 8k miles on it yet, don't know if I'll keep it once it's paid off in 3.5 years though. Probably swap it out for something plug in that's not a tesla at that point.

The ST is the only Explorer, in stock form, that would beat ole Red in drag race! I would hope the newer 3.0 would last as a completely different engine than the 3.5l. However, I see the same potential problem with cam Phasers and it is GDI. There is no port injection to keep the intake and intake valve clean. Explorer ST has 400hp/415lbs.

What does it weigh compared to a 2000 AWD Limited??
