No 99sport, my 97 SOHC is duel inlet too. But you can buy a single inlet muffler and have the muffler shop Y-Pipe the duel into single. like this

Don't discount what Spindlecone said about Morgan-tec. Although not the flavour of the month on this site, his work is wildly popular on another Explorer site. The guy seems to have his act together and others swear by his work. I think he can put together a muffler for just about any budget and he definitely knows Explorers.

Gibson, Borla, Flowmaster, MagnaFlow, and etc. You pay for what you get here...

I know celly. But wouldnt what I said work?

It does work. Many people use single inlet mufflers on their SOHC engines.

gibson rocks!

by using the y-pipe do you loose any power, waht i mean is will this restrict my exhaust flow? sry for the questions, but i want to know what im gettinig into before i pay money and buy the wrong thing
thanks again

Aero-turbine. $100 ebay, stainless steel....check out the website - completely different style of muffler. www.aero-turbine.com

i was thinking about this and i had an idea, its probly a stupid one, but what if i sprayed rustolium on the muffler, would that make it last longer/prevent rust, or would the heat just burn it off??

The only problem with this is, the catalytic converters convert hydrocarbons into water/condensation, which will puddle up and rott the muffler from the inside, so painting it won't help sir.

But figure it this way, if you paid, $70 for a muffler installed and got 2/3 years out of it, that only cost $35/$22.50 a year for a muffler, pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

I have had my Flow Pro for 3 years and have not had a single problem with it, I have sank it, drowned it, and it still performs flawlessly.

Most you all will buy a muffler and the muffler will out last you owning the vehicle. ;)
On the other hand if not, then at least you got your monies worth.

I have had Flowmaster mufflers since they first came out, but I'm very tired of the sound, the last muffler I had put on my Lightning was the MAC Flow Path, now that was an AWSOME sounding muffler, but damn it was expensive at $90 a muffler, had to buy two, but they haven't rotted out yet, 5years later.

ok my questions continue....what difference does the length of the muffler make, and what is better, short or long

Those exhaust systems sound AWESOME Jeff!

I wonder why every sound is of a V8?

Cause they sound the best, hands down. The hemi was the best.

EDIT: The chevelle ties it.

Yeah, but not even 1 V6? They'd put their "most proud" sounds on that page, so maybe the mufflers just don't sound right on a V6? That's what I'd be thinking as a potential customer.

i thought that was intersting too....but still they do sound good..even on the smaller v8s i.e. the 4.6

A guy at my school had a flow pro muffler and cat on his S-10 Zr2 before he switched to straights. Sounded pretty dang good.

Just got some vids up on a server, anyone want to hear a cherry bomb turbo muffler, i beleive all the vids i had it on.

Vids starting with MOV0 were taken today, jan/31/05, and are without pipe past the muffler so it will probably sound different then the rest.

Truck Vids

Also i may put other vids in there later on, and sorry if the server doesnt upload too fast, its hosting a file server for a forum.

MMMMMm cherry bombs, sound like either a TRactor, or a Pissed off Bumble bee, the tractor ones sound good, but the pissed off bumble you can keep :D

lol i just realized the other day it sounded rather like a 4cylinder desil tractor
