Mustang injectors on the OHV 4.0???

Will Mustang injectors work on the OHV 4.0 Explorer motor. I have a 91 explorer, and I believe I have a bad injector(s). I will be checking them out this week. But they are $70/ea at NAPA. I bought a set of 30lb injectors for my mustang for $199 for set of 8. Will a set of 19lb'ers work just fine in the exploder.

I've been searching the forums for an answer, and haven't found one. Thanks in advance.

I know its been talked about before on the board that the 19lb injectors out of the 5.0 will work, and they are cheaper aftermarket.

Thanks Steve. I caught up with a Mustang buddy of mine yesterday, and he gave me his old 19lb'ers out of his 5.0. I matched them to the explorer injectors, and they were a perfect match.

These are used #19 Mustang injectors from a Mustang GT. I really don't know how much it is worth. I guess $50 bucks???

do you know how many miles are on them?

It has about 120,000 miles.
It comes with the Powerdyne for my Mustang.

19 LB injectors

Hi Guys,

I have a few sets of 6, brand new 19Lb injectors made by Bosch. These are the same ones that come in the new mustangs and F-150's.

"New" Ford's use a returnless fuel system and the injectors should differ slightly. For example, the harness connectors should be different

Injector style

Hi Guys,

Yes the newer fords do use a returnless fuel system but some of the fords come with a rounded style connector on the harness and injector. The injector is a skinner injector that is made out of plastic were as the other type is meatl and plastic on top and is fat in size.
The ones i have are the fat type Bosch injector which is used on the older 4.0L up to were they put in the SOHC
4.0L.
It wont matter which injector you use all you have to do is have the right connector to clip it to.
The returnless fuel system does't care which injector you use.
