I have 2 Kicker L7 12s with 1200.1 Kicker Mono Block Amp and I finally got the box yesterday from UPS. I want to install this this weekend but I don't have a 200amp altenator just yet and I don't have a yellow top just yet. Will I be fine for now til I get these? I plan to get the yellow top next paycheck and the altenator in the next month or so. Was hopin I could atleast use the system for awhile. I know after awhile it'll drain the hell out of my battery/alt but I was hoping I could atleast get by?

I cant wait much longer!

Install the setup man! If your headlights start dimming just turn the bass down :)

no real problem for awhile, but you may want to get the alternator first then the battery. Just my opinion

yeah, they're damn near the same price anyways (after tax everything else the yellowtop optima was 182) when I got the pricing at the local shop. I just figured atleast with the battery I wouldn't have to order it and wait 2 weeks before getting what I paid for. I could just throw it in that day and know I have that out of the way :)

I do plan on probably going with a bigger slot ported box in the future but this sealed box will be more than enough for now. It's the right specs for sealed too as the L7s call for 0.88-1.5 CB feet per chamber for sealed boxes so it'll sound good for a sealed but will def. look into a ported box later on :)

did the speakers come with gaskets for the mounting face? if not you can pick up some weather stripping at lowes. a leak the size of a pin hole can make a seaker have a rattling sound at higher volumes.

thats also why its a good idea to not mount an amp onto a box. with any odered box Ive had the sealing was crap. usually the back panels are sealed with glue but the front isn't double check to be sure there all sealed up nice. you can always do this latter but just an FYI.

where am I looking? Are you saying make sure the corners of the insides of the box are glued tight?

To be honest, you really shouldn't need a new alt. Maybe a better battery, if the one you have is stock.
Upgrade the big three then go from there on your new alt. 1200 watts isn't alot to most cars or suv's, check out termpro.com . ;-)

Big three are, ground cables ( bat to block to frame ),power cable ( from bat to amp ) and alt wire ( from bat to alt).
