The explorer was my dads before it was my grandpas and now its mine. Kept it in the family for this long so I figured I would sink some bucks into it and see what happens. Keeps getting more expensive everyday :)

Well spent money for a very reliable do all type vehicle. Only downside is the fuel mileage. But hey, its worth it.

Thx for the videos. They are great and very helpful.

I just lucked into a 5.0 XLT AWD out of Tennessee that a man bought brand new in 97, and he kept it up well. Not a spot of rust to be found. Tommorrow I'm going to change the rear diff fluid. Is that a hand pump kerosene hose you used to fill it?

Who ever bumped this was a genious. You gave me intresting advice in the past.

In the recent present' Jremington and I been getting Q&A from folks on general knowlege and commonly asked stuff.

Please keep up the good video.

I think it was a pump of some sort at one point. I cut it in 1/2 and just use it as a funnel now.

Will do! Thanks!

I was just reading my owners manual and I get a kick out of this.

It says regarding the axles, "5.0 vehicles are equipped with synthetic fluid and do not require a fluid change during the life of the vehicle".

I'm not sure I'm trusting this 15 years down the road.

The only time I ever seen oil that never needed replacing, was when I was in the Navy, and they had some stuff they were using in an aircraft engine. It was a silicate and contained no carbon at all. That stuff must have cost Gov $1000 per ounce. Never oxidizes and never brakes down and made out of sand.

The "synthetic" we buy is oil out of the ground and the strands of carbon are "synthesized" to enhance the oil above and beyond the regular oil.

I wasn't a aircraft mechanic. I was a electronics tech but, worked with the mechanics daily. After the Navy I worked as an industrial mechanic for about six years and gear boxes were all the rave.

After 140,000. miles or more on the worlds greatest truck, I have no problem giving a little extra oil whenever it wants. Especially on a limited slip differential because the clutches can go bad.

Great videos!

Glad you liked them.

More vids should be up soon. My computer crashed so I have to buy a new one and load the new vids off my camera onto the new comp. Should I have Plug/Wire vid. Power steering install vid. Wheel prep/painting vid. Maybe a few others as well.
