My new 99 Ex 4x4

LOL! I got the springs from the junkyard as they were. I asked but they couldnt tell me. I had them installed today as well as the hitch and had a spare tire mounted on the rim I picked up. I also reinforced the auto parts shackles with some galvanised pipe and bolts. It rides much better and has less bounce from the rear, Thank God!. I was also able to locate some Nexen265/75/16 Mud terrain tires that will be going on tomorrow. Funds are really tight right now so I'm foregoing the body lift and larger tires. Here is a pic

Looks good. 4 door leaf pack is so much nicer. I also put on new rancho shocks when I did it. You will have basically the same setup as I do currently. I wish I could do more, but funds are limited here too. Hopefully I'll get a full time job next year. Full time job = body lift, and 33" MT's.

I got one question for you... How many times have you smacked your shin on that MASSIVE Hitch?

Plenty!!!! I've had it for about 4 years now. I originally got it when I had a lifted 4x4 crewcab diesel f250 and I dont have the heart to get rid of it. You can adjust it so many ways and its sved me from some damage from being rear ended. It will also serve as a hook up point for a tow strap.

I have one like that laying around in my garage somewhere, it seriously weighs 40lbs. My dad used to use it for his in closed Race car hauler. I had plenty of bruises from that darn thing.

Well I got shafted by the tire guy and he sold the tires out from under me. That's big city living for you, no ones word means anything anymore. Oh well, the search continues for some decent used tires.

Well, after having the last set of tires sold from under me, I was still on the hunt for some mud tires and came across a set of Goodyear wrangler mtr's for a steal on Craigslist. I wanted som 265/75/16 but these were 245/75/16. I went to see them and they only had 8000 miles on them. I had to get them. I had them mounted today and I must say they humm Like crazybut I love it. Here is a pic. I am considering putting some wheel spacers in the rear to bring the tires out some, has anyone had any negative experience with the rears?

I got a call early saturday morning from my buddy asking for help. His son had gone out night mudding in his Jeep unlimited and had buried it. He then went out to help him and buried his lifted Jeep rubicon on 33's and needed someone to pull them out. I decided to give it a try but I wasnt very confident id be able to get them out without getting stuck myself. I went in to where they were and got stuck, but not as bad as they were. I managed to get myself unstuck after 45 minutes of trying. I then turned around and hooked up his sons jeep and pulled him out. I went back in and also pulled the rubicon out. None of us could believe the power and low end grunt my Explorer had. After some research I found that I have 4.10 gears and a factory limited slip, combined with my Goodyear MT/R's it was just the ticket. Now I'm excited and want a body lift and bigger tires. Here are the only 2 pics we took
