My transmission is leaking around the linkage area.

1994 explorer transmission is leaking slightly from the linkage area. The linkage bolt seems tight but there is wiggle which is causing the leakage. Does anyone know how to tighten or fix?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmissions section. There is a small round seal in this location that has to be replaced. It's not a complicated job, but it's messy & time consuming. You have to remove the lower pan, retaining pin in the case, and the inner lock nut holding the linkage in place. Be careful not to bend the Z link. Take a look at the sticky thread called the A4LD rebuild diary for more information.
