Need advice with driveshaft. Please help.

So i have a 97 x sport with a bw4411 (control trac) transfer case. I have searched every junk yard in gods creation and cant find a driveshaft to work. both the transfer case and differential have the same yoke. (see below) i need a driveshaft shorter than 24" (a regular x front DS is too long) when the local auto stores search for a DS all it shows is the 6 bolt dome looking DS. I have tried making a custom DS to no avail (worked better as a speed controlled back massager ) so if anyone has been in this predicament or has a solution or possibly knows of another driveshaft that will work please let me know. thanks in advance.

never heard of a BW 4411 before, , i thought they used a BW4405,

Can't be a 4411.. 4411 is 2002 and up. With the 97, you have a 4405

if it is a 4405 maybe a dual cardan shaft from a ranger would work , ??

my mistake on that, i just googled part # for a "control trac" TC and thats what it gave me. ill check on that ranger DS. thanks for the quick response guys.

Why wont a stock shaft work?
What has been changed up?

The 97 stock is a 4405-GA.

If it has the same yolks for the front shaft it has been changed to a 4405-CA used in 95-96.

The 4405-CA uses the double cardan front shaft, which is most likely what you need.

There was a 22 3/4" shaft used with the Borg Warner 4404 in 1997. It might be what you are looking for, but I have no idea. Take a look at this thread: Link

both the transfer case and differential have the same yoke. (see below)

The shaft I mentioned has a CV-joint on the transfer case side and a U-joint on the front differential side. If you have U-joints on both ends that is not the correct driveshaft.

If you bought it with the drive shaft missing? The previous owner probably put in the wrong T/C. See if there is a tag on the T/C from this you can find the model number that you have. If it is the wrong T/C a custom made shaft may be the only option, which might be cheaper than changing the T/C.

i appreciate all the help. ill check on the TC # soon. its -4 outside right now tho and im not a fan of the cold.
