I have my axle mostly stripped, ready to paint up and take to be geared tomorrow.
I am switching from a L/S unit to an open carrier with an aussie locker, but my open carrier does not have a tone ring. My question is, is the tone ring separate from the carrier, or do I have to have a carrier with a tone ring? I need to know ASAP so I can either try do disassemble the LS carrier or go on the hunt for another carrier.
Also is there a good way to pull the outer bearings and seals if I don't have a slide hammer?
