Ok, I travel alot for my job. I have to be back on the road in 2-3 days. I have my right rear wheel pulled apart, rotor off, and I am staring at my hub assembly. I have NO clue how to get this off? I have a new hub assembly and bearing ready to go on but I am stuck and need HELP asap! Please any info at all would be great!

Is this on a 2002 Explorer?

Also why do you have the rear hub assembly pulled apart?

Help us help you so to speak and welcome to the forum :)

2002 Explorer. I know enough about cars to understand that my bearing is shot(wheel bolted on had a lot of play, loud noise developed and rotor was dragging on shield as it rolled off balance).Pulled everything apart and just trying to figure out how to remove hub assembly. Not sure if there is a lock pin as I can't see any retaining bolts or pin etc... Once apart I can press new bearing and reassemble... just can't figure out how to get it off. Thanks btw for the welcome!

I am using a slide hammer but it feels like its welded on there its so tight. I have the hub ass. half way off now... still looking for help!

I watched my friend who is a Ford Dealership Tech replace my rear axle seals and if I am not mistaken you will need to pull the axle to press off the old bearing and press on the new one. Was not a job I would have wanted to tackle in the driveway.

Well thanks for the info someone else suggested that I need to unbolt the 3 bolts holding the entire brake house and everything. One at the top on the arm, one on the bottom at the other arm and one on the side connecting to the other arm.

still at a loss for sure but at the point I am at there is no way I can turn back. really is unfortunate because I do not want to cancel my show.
