My dad's trucks transmission won't go into reverse.
It goes into drive and shifts from 1-3 perfectly(hasnt shifted into 4th for a long time.) When you put it in reverse theres a light (LIGHT!) bang in the floor, so I know something is happening down there.
I got stuck in a snowbank and tried going in reverse and just spun the back tires. Locked the hubs and tried forward and was still stuck. Put it in reverse and nothing happened. Had to put it in low and melt the snow away to get un-stuck.
If anyone says something along the lines of 'rebuild' or something, I will reject your reply and substitute my own. A rebuild is almost %100 not an option.
Could it just be the O-ring for the low/reverse servo finally gave? Can't build any pressure to shift? It's had the 'slow-into-reverse' thing happening for quite some time.
Give me some good news
