I installed my BBK TB and went for a test drive. Was driving really nice, then, out of nowhere, started bogging. I took it home, and thought it may be the TPS. I replaced the TPS, and it did not solve the problem. Engine shakes baddly on acceleration, and performance is lost. I pulled every plug wire to see If I had a bad one, and they all seem fine. I have checked all connections and can't find the problem. I did a check on the engine and with the old and new TPS the test comes back as TPS signal low.

PLEASE HELP!!!

ANYONE???

Ahhh... put your old TB back on.

I did...it made absolutely no difference. I have reset the computer multiple times....still running like S**T!

what got in your engine when you swapped TB....

Nothing should have...It is a very easy install and There is really nothing that should have got in there.

honestly... the only thing i can think of is one of your sensors in your intake tube is getting an incorrect reading. Maybe air is being let in after the sensor (your intake tube would be loose?) or maybe one of the sensors is backwards, not fully pluged in.... just go over all connections in your hose and look at all the sensors really close between your air box/intake and your TB.

It wouldnt take much of anything to get in there. Even something very, very small can cause big, big problems.

Also make sure you didn't pinch any wires under anything.

Somthing getting into the engine shouldn't affect the TPS sensor reading.

Are you sure you have the correct new TB?

Well I have looked and looked and still can't find anything. If in park and slowly applying gas, it seems to run fine, as soon as I quickly hit the gas, it sounds like the engine is missing. I don't know what else to check. I mean one second it is running fine, I go to take off at a light, and it starts bogging?!

That really sounds like your air/fuel mix is off. You mentioned you were getting a TPS code. Are you sure you didn't break a wire somewhere?? Use a multimeter or continuity tester to make sure your wiring is ok.

When you reset the computer, how long did you leave the battery cable off for?? You should leave it off for at least 10-15 minutes because it does hold memory for a short while. If you are positive you got the computer reset, and all your connections/wires are ok, another possibility is a slightly plugged fuel filter.

Does anyone think this may be a screwed up FPR or a partially clogged Fuel Filter???

I checked and double checked the wires but i think I will check with a multimeter. Does anyone happen to know what the readings should be if operating normally??

One more thing....It really only seems to happen in the low RPM range?!

OK...well I guess it's got to go to the shop today!:( I'll keep you updated. Keep your fingers crossed.

Guess what....It was a friggin spark plug. and my very trusted mechanic told me, "Never put BOSCH plugs in an american car, I see problems like this almost every other day"

So...to say the least....I now have Motorcraft Platinum plugs, and it only cost me $45.

Happy as can be again.
