I have an 07 XLT with a 4.0. I recently noticed a puddle on the ground under the front of the truck and noticed a coolant smell. I notice a small amount of coolant around the thermostat housing but not enough to where it would make a puddle. I'm not sure the puddle was coolant so I placed a piece of cardboard on the ground and ran the truck for about 15 minutes. Nothing on cardboard. Started it this morning in 20 degree weather and warmed it up for about 15 minutes and noticed it dropping water or coolant on the cardboard. The defroster running and in normal operating temp. Drove to work and ran the truck in the parking lot for about 15 minutes. Did not see anything dripping but still the small amount around housing.
Does the heater/defroster drip or am I leaking coolant. I flushed and filled radiator about a month ago and filled it with zerex g05. No problems but noticed the overfill tank has dropped a little from the hot mark.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I sure pray it's nothing serious. Thanks.
