Hello

I have recently started driving. I am 16 and have earned enough money to do alot of things to my explorer. I dont plan on doing any serious off roading but i want my truck to not be the normal ford u see on the streets. I would like you to give me some hints on what i can upgrade. I would like Flow Masters or something like that. Dual pipes, Nice stereo system and maybe some nice wheels and tires. Can u give me suggestions on what i can do? Thanks for all your help!

Welcome to the site. Glad you could join us. For an exhaust upgrade, there are several aftermarket bolt on systems available from Borla, Flowmaster, Dynomax and a couple of others. My personal preference is the Flowmaster cat back system. I had one on my '92 and it gave it a nice sound and added some horsepower. It cost about $160 from www.summitracing.com . I'll pass on the stereo advice, but Sony makes some pretty nice stuff in their ES series. As for wheels and tires, BFGoodrich AT ko's seem to be the favorites here. Once my current tires wear down, that's what I'm going to. Wheels are more of user preference. Check out the link I gave you above, www.tirerack.com or www.tires.com They all have a decent selection.

You can also use the search engine that is built into this website to look for info. There is a ton of it on the site, so have fun.

Again, Welcome to the site!! :)

Yes the posibilites are endless.....If it can be thought of...it's nearly been done to explorers.....Stereo stuff? I can vouch that Kenwood eXcelon makes wicked headunits and the aluminum subs made by Eclipse are kick ass as well

I am actually looking for a good exhaust system myself so if you find anything out useful let me know it would be much appreciated, as far as the stereo equipment goes, im pretty experienced in that area. I am coming off a system that ran about 1000 watts. I downsized to about 400-450 watts I have the Panasonic 600u (the one that changes from silver in the day to a glowing blue at night http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/sh...6&show_all=false&product_exists=True&active=1 go there to see it) it puts out about 45 watts x 4 with 2 sets of pre amped outputs and a pair of subwoofer outputs as well. Its powering Panasonic 6 x 8's ( try to uniform in brands when getting speakers and a headunit)....I love it, it looks great it cranks and it has never skipped once. For bass I have a single 12" Kicker XPL in a Kicker Substation box (I took out the speaker it came with, I kept on blowing it) I have moved this box into 4 different cars, I will never part with it. I can not stress how well it works I would recommend it to anyone!!! I out thump many 12" pairs all the time and they are shocked when they look in my trunk.
If you go with this just turn the bass down and the treble up for the interiors and turn the separate subwoofer controls up, they are built into the headunit. This WILL turn MANY heads!!!!!
I was SHOCKED myself at how well everything works together.

Good Luck!:bounce:
