need help with lift

Hey, i have built new shackles for the back of my 93 explorer. I made my new shackles 2 inches longer with the thought that it would lift the rear 2 inches. When i bolted them in and let it down off the jack, it just flattened out my leaf springs and didn't lift the vehicle at all. I need any advice or ideas please.

It would appear that the springs cannot support as much anymore so you may need oem replacements or stiffer aftermarkets
