I recently went to a pull-a-part and was able to find the stock amp and sub unit from a similar 99. I pulled the wiring all the way to the plug under the glove box and just figured that my EX would have this roughed in. WRONG!!! Now I am stuck with this unit that I am very excited about but have no idea what so ever about how to wire this thing in. I have seen some threads on here about wiring these into aftermarket head units but I have the stock head unit that works great so I don't want to go out and buy a new one. Plus, the whole reason I got this is because I was able to get the entire system for $30. I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money so I hope there is a simple way to splice into some other wires. Any insite on this would be a huge help! I can post pictures if needed and will check back often for some answers!

Thanks in advance for all the help. I Love This Site!!!

did this with an '04, ya ford is good about removing unnecessary wires in the audio department. Everywhere else the plugs there. . .except for the radio. I have a thread where i upgraded to audiophile, bought a Radio with the Sub connector (4 pins). If i had the stock radio (w/o) you might be able to buy a splitter to hook to the rears speakers to provide the sub-signal. With mine i just re-ran the wires from the radio to sub myself.

Thanks
Ya I'm just not that comfortable to cut into wires again (bad experience with trying to install automatic car starter) I just dont know which wires are for what. I plan on going back this weekend and pulling the wires out all the way to the stereo. I hope to bring a camera and try to make a good writeup about it as i'm sure i'm not the only one to ever do this but I just can't seem to find a post about doing it.

You will need the harness from the kickplate under the dash to the radio.

If you can, take the harness itself from the junked truck. The subs are infamous for blowing- can you tell if the foam surround is still ok in the one you got? If not, you'll need a new sub as well...

You will also need the radio from that truck I think as the JBL's / MACH audio only came with the subs, and they have the correct pin-in's for them on the radio.

Thanks for the reply!

I went back this weekend to retrieve the rest of the harnes and after an hour and a half, was able to get just the wires from under the kickplate all the way to the radio. To my dismay, my stock radio doesn't have the pin-in's but does have the female plug end (just no pins in the plug). I was wondering if an auto/audio store would have this harness for a decent price, as the radio was long gone in the truck.

Also, the foam seemed to be in good shape as well as the rest of the housing and the amp, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will still be the cheap project that I started out to complete!

Thanks again for all of the help!
