I am not so much an enthusiast -- just someone looking for information:

The steering column of the Ford Explorer i am going to give my daughter and her baby is weird....You have to put it in park several times in hope of it connecting to PARK --- then sometimes when you put it in park, in idle, it doesn't connect and rolls backwards and engages reverse....when it does connect in park, it lunges backward, then stops....THEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS NECESSARY...do i need fluid or is something broken? I can't take the risk of something bad being wrong....

I thought someone here might have had a similar expereince...
