- 98 ford Explorer
I have a 98 ford explorer XLT SOHC with transfer-case problems. No codes are popping up will not engage.
I was stuck on a snow covered road. Went to engage my 4H accidentally slipped into for low and pressed on the accelerator. The car Shook violently and my four wheel drive hasn't worked since. My people I've talked to told me to replace my T-case and did just that. With my new(tested used one) T-case in place I put it into 4H and gearing changed gave it that slight front end pull. Put it in 4L low range Kicked in Drove with Low gearing. Rounded a corner testing both 4L and 4H no hopping. Drove my Explorer into a snow bank to test it. IN both 4L and 4H same result. The car felt like it was engaged, Indicator lights both showed up. But now power was being transferred through the front Axel. If i really pinned the explorer on slick ground the car vibrates roughly like its trying to engage but Still NO 4 Wheel Drive. Any thoughts on what I should do?
