i have ford explorer limited 96 4 door and want to change all four shocks so i like to know which company shocks is good.i am little confuse in trunk place where we put the jack there is ON /OFF switch button which is for air suspention can any one tell me what is that for?is it somthing to do with the shocker?

The switch controls your air ride shocks. You will need to switch it off if you go with non-air ride shocks. you will also need to cut a couple of wires to the message center to keep from receiving air ride warnings.

like to know what you think about Rancho RS99296 Shock, RS9000X, Triple-Tube, 9-Way Adjus.will it fit in my 96 explorer?do i need to do altration with the fitting or pipes?
 






Dammit I guess I have air ride as well since I saw the switch on mine. Is air ride a bad thing? Why does everybody on here bypass it?

The air ride on my 99 works fine...The main reason for bypass would probably be cost. 98 and older used 4 air shocks and costs around $470+ for the set. Your 99 only uses two rear air ride shocks. They are load leveling, and will adjust to the load you are carrying. I paid around $170 for the pair a couple of years ago. Standard shocks are used for the front.
