Ok so to get my 2" on the front I did a tt and of course the bolts were ran all the way in and I didn't get 1.25 inches. So I pulled one of the bolts out and realised there the same thread and size (shorter) as my old body bolts, I took the shorter body bolts and ran them in till I got my 2" . I've waited to post on it till I had tested it for a while ,so far 6 months latter no problems the bolts still look great no mushroom affect going on and they seem to be holding up great. They have bin threw off road trips daily and made trips across 4 states.I'll get pics latter on.

Yeah I need to get that done, had several things happen the last few days let's just say after 3 years I'm single again lol. I'll get pics in the morning .

Any pics? The body mount bolts? How hard is it to pull the stock torsion bolts out? Have to do anything special?

Sorry yeah got pics just bin busy at work, no nothing special just Jack it up and swap them out.

Using longer bolts is the same idea of using re-indexed torsion keys, just cheaper. Just shows one of your torsion bars has a good bit of fatigue.

Sorry for the delay

i bought longer bolts than stock and did the same thing

Yeah that's what I was going to do till I figured this out and just thought I would share.

How much more of lift did you increase it to?

Well I stayed at max 2" but with the old bolts in all the way I only got 1.25" that little bit made a big difference.

Hey all,

Where did you get the longer bolts from? And can I just use any longer bolt from a hardware store or is there a difference?

Cheers all,

Jake

That's what I did on my '97 EX.
I took one of my Stock TT key bolts to ACE hardware and got a longer grade 8 replacements. That was almost 3 years ago and it's still working Great!!!
And YES I do a good amount of Off-roading and have had NO trouble out of them.

Does it need to have that little rounded ball on the tip or can it be flat?

Today I just bought two M12 x100mm length bolts and put them in just like they were... Didn't need to round off the tip of the thread.

The reason for the rounded part is just so it creates less friction on the torsion key when tightening/loosening.

I just added grease to the bolt to help with the friction and so it will next rust ever again like my old M12 x70mm bolts did.

Sorry I sold my ex a year ago but found it and got it back today, the body bolts are still holding up great.
