I have searched on here for a few hours now and have not found any detailed answers. I have a JL 8w1v2 sub that replaced the blown factory sub. I realized that it is not putting out the sound it is capable of and realized I need to replace the factory sub amp. I have no idea how. I have been shopping and people are telling me $150-$200 to install. When it comes to mechanical things I will do it all myself, electronics are a different story. However, when $150 is involved, I would like to do it myself. So the question is, can somebody tell me what I materials I need and what needs to be done as detailed as possible. You will be a great help. Feel free to suggest an amp as well. I will not need much. To be at optimum performance my sub need 125 continuous RMS. Thanks!!

In my Budget Bass project, I used a PAC OEM-2 for the high-low converter. It also converted the factory Ford 5V remote turn on into a 12V, with turn-on delay.

Amp is under the back seat, driver side...

You'll need to run the usual power wire from the battery, with fusing by the battery. You'll need to run the remote wire and RCA cables. You'll need to run speaker wire(s) from the amp to sub(s).

Any opinion on amp? Here is what I was considering...

Rockford Fosgate - 300W Class AB Mono Amplifier

or

JL 250/1 Amp

Not sure what to go with, then I will go from there. Thanks!
