Look at your frame up front. should be some holes that'll align up with a tow hook on the outside of the frame. Might be a bear getting them on a stock X with no body lift. If you have a body lift should be a piece of cake. Use grade 8 bolts.
Shoulda taken better photos back when I had the chance. This was one of my first projects I did after joining this forum, drilled a couple holes in the bottom side of my frame with a cordless drill (yup it took forever). This truck had a 3" body lift, so my bumper was raised from the frame, but these are the GM towhooks that were flush with the bottom of my frame. Very similar to placement on the Chevy trucks, these were very stout, I know some guys bend the smaller hook ones. That was never an issue.
