This may have been covered, but I want to start a pole of people who have been able to fit 31 x 10.50 r15's on their "stock" explorer's (1995 and later models since they changed the body style with the 96's). I have a 94EB 4x4 without fender flares or running boards and want the 31's. I just haven't been able to tell from the posts on the board if they will fit or not. If you respond to this, you may want to include what, if any, had to be cut to make the tires fit.

Thanks in advance

the 265/75 R16 are 31.6" Diameter by the Tire/Gear Calculator in my signature.

I fit 31's on my 1993 XLT stock explorer, no prob, very tight though, only about an inch of clearance on the sides.

no probs with 31" tires on stock 15x7 rims. wider aftermarket rims will require some cutting/trimming.

Some have had problems fitting the 31's on the early models because of worn out coils or springs, so they wouldn't be able to fit. Once the coils/springs were replaced, they would fit.

I bought the truck with Michelins Traded for the Armstrongs. Great Tires Aggessive Looks and Traction. Then Fstones now GoodYear AT/S. I've no Idea how the GoodYears are I'll know in 13 Days. As for the others never had a problem with them. All sets of tires were 31 X 10.5's.
