Welcome Kyson,

How do you like your STA? Regarding the supercharger, I have emailed a number of companies and to date have not received a response.

Charlie

I like it. I replaced a BMW M5 and a 4WD Pathfinder with it in an attempt to blend the capabilities of both with one vehicle. I've never owned a Ford, and would never have know these exist except a fellow car enthusiast friend of mine turned me on to it over Thanksgiving. I love the utility, technology integration and style. And the fact I can hot rod it a little is very appealing, though I am surprised by the unavailability of serious parts. I imagine those will come in time. I will admit to being spoiled by the M5's power output so am anxious to add more to this one.

I also like having never seen another one on the road and that they have a little exclusivity. The build quality is less than I like (weatherstripping fit and finish, interior parts alignment and quality, orange peel, etc.) but it has tons of personality and doesn't try to be something its not. Its easy to throw gear in, generates looks and comments here and there and I look forward to many miles of fun with it.

Great site by the way!

I am some what surprised myself! Maybe in time things will change but since the 4.6L ST has been around for a while already I'm not so sure :(
Manufacturers do not seem to view Explorers owners (of any model) as a profit center.

I think you are exactly right. STA owners aside, I suspect there are not many ST owners looking at big brake kits and performance parts. For those that do, an exhaust and CAI kit are sufficient so that is what we see in the market.

STAs are not yet plentiful enough to have piqued the aftermarket's attention. Again I haven't followed Ford performance very closely and incorrectly assumed when I bought this that since it was a 4.6L I could "do anything you could do to a Mustang". The truck does does stand on its own merits, it would just be nice to have a few more performance bits to choose from. I would be interested in better brakes if anyone is familiar with a BBK setup.

I really don't think it's the limited number of STA's. I remember reading somewhere that production would be around 6,000 units + special orders. Ford is already into the second year of production so there must be over 10,000 STA's on the road by now?!? (BTW, where are all you guys? :D)

The maximum amount of Lightning pick ups built was somewhere around 4,000 per year and there is a ton of aftermarket parts for that truck!
It's F-150 based though and that is a big market.

Like I previously mentioned, I do not think manufacturers consider Explorer owners to be a profitable market. The majority just do not modify their vehicles. IMO of course.

If the Adrenalin came with a SVT emblem it would probably be an entirely different ball game.

I am going to do the rear emblem swap on my STA, and wanted to know what the price was and if there is a discount parts dealer out there for a replacement rear Adrenalin emblem?

Maybe I'm missing something?

Are you planning on removing the the Sport trac emblem and replacing it with the Adrenalin emblem? If that's the case all you have to do is remove both emblems and move the Adrenalin emblem to the other side.

"Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!" :D

Good to know, I used one on my cobra it was the small ford badge and it worked fine. I did not notice the letters are raised on the sport trac I will have to look at it. Maybe I will sand it down smooth and take some of the dome out.
