New Clutch

I read somewhere that the clutch system in these Ford's are already self adjusting systems due the the hydraulic nature. Is this true? I'm trying to figure out whether I need to get a standard pressure plate or self adjusting plate.

When you look up a clutch specific for your Explorer, does it give that choice?

What engine do you have, 4.0 ohv, 4.0 sohc, or v8?

OHV 4.0L

Yes it gives me the option.
