How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming

Maybe I missed something but why not bring to dealership and have them do it? Looks like a known problem.
I brought it up to them last summer, but they were talking about taking the seat apart, even though I handed them a print out of the TSB jmr061 posted above which states the fix is a software update. Basically, I can deal with unchecking the box each time I start the car compared to shelling out a few hundred dollars, so I was trying to fix on my own and I thought Forscan might help. I did get in there and disable the double horn honk yesterday.

I've seen many other posts about this issue on here and other sites, so I was thinking someone would have found a work around to disable this after 5 years...

Can you check on a couple of parameters? Check 720-01-02 and 744-02-01. Let me know what those are showing on your vehicle.

Hopefully I pulled these correctly. I'm just looking at the As Build backup files I saved.

IPC - 720-01-0228-1B10-7D
DSM - 744-02-01-2775

That doesn't look right. You should have 8 characters (xxxx-xxxx) for 720-01-02. Please double check.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer to Update your DSM, or buy your own IDS which costs alot more! Good luck

Plugged in just now and this is what I see in Forscan.

According to F150 spreadsheet, change 720-01-02 to xxx3-xxxx (currently it has B, just change that B to a 3. The last 2 digits might change on their own but ignore it).

Let me know if that works.

That seems to only take this option away from the dash menu. Seat still moves when ignition is turned off. I tried switching the check box to unchecked in the dash before switching the B to a 3 and it didn’t keep the seat setting disabled.

That's too bad.. That's the only thing I could think of. Looks like a trip to dealership...

As a last resort, you could try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes before reconnecting. That has been known to fix some issues but you will lose some saved memory settings.

Ive got a 2015 XLT. 8" MFT with Voice Nav. No HD radio, NON-SONY, NON-AMPLIFIED, "Premium Plus" Sound system. I have the center dash channel (which plays when the rest of the speakers are disconnected), the standard doors with 6x9 and tweeter up front, rear coax, and also have the 3.5" midranges in the wheel well area between 2nd and 3rd row. No sub, and no amp. Trying to find someone with a similar configuration as mine, which apparrently is somewhat of an oddball. Ive used the search for countless hours the last few days trying to figure out which coding to use for the line-level preamp output and factory eq disable. Ive tried the ones that keep coming up when i search and no success. Ill post my as builts when I go on break again.
*******EDIT*******
Tried DANmc85' fusion coding and Im happy to confirm it was a SUCCESS!!!! Solid 3.2V at Max volume.

hi i have a 2018 explorer and every link i've tried to get the spreadsheet doesnt seem to work. does anyone have a local copy they can provide?

I've tried all of the below but they dont work

Numbers (sticky from the top of this forum)
FORScan Ford Explorer 11-21MY (found on youtube)

The spreadsheet is really not needed anymore. Forscan has almost all changes you would want to make programmed into it's non as built menus.

Here's one video that explains how to use it, but there's others out there:

What changes are you looking to make?

So, this isn't for my Explorer, but the Edge forums are fairly quiet these days, and I don't want to join a Fusion forum just to ask that question (at least not yet).

I recently picked up a 2018 Edge Sport.

One feature on the Explorer that I miss on the Edge is the left screen returning back to previous after using paddle shifters (in drive).

On the Explorer, if you hit the paddle shifters when it's in Drive, the left cluster screen changes to the round tach with the gear indicator. After a handful of seconds of no paddle activity, it reverts back to whatever previous screen was.

On the Edge, it does the same round tach with gear, but after it 'times out', the round tach stays and the gear indicator disappears.
I then have to toggle back to the screen that I was on. It's not the end of the world, but just a minor thing that bugs me.

Any chance anyone knows if that can be changed with Forscan to revert back to previous screen?
I did a lot of Forscan searching around the interwebs, but I'm striking out, which might mean it's not possible.

Hoping for some help here. A few years ago I disabled the XM radio option in the APIM because i was tired of clicking through it when changing radio inputs. I'm selling the vehicle now and want to re-enable it for whoever i sell to. I cant find my original spreadsheet and the new ones dont show the option for XM radio. Anyone have the line for XM enable?

Hi all.

I just got a 2017 Explorer XLT, and as I went through the instrument cluster, I noticed that the combo screen I have on my Escape does not show up on the Explorer.

does anyone know if there is a way in Forscan to turn this combo screen on to be selected?
