How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming

Prefix for threads which are instructional.
Here in Canada, without the mod that 613GT500 did, the Explorer comes from the factory with LED low beam + signature lighting when in 'Auto' mode during the day.

Peter

Thanks. Today I managed to add to IPC (Instrument Clusters on the small left screen) the DRL Control
from the datasheet that the guys from Fusion forum prepared:
http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...X5Qhee3C0ngilqwTA7E/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true

When it appeared it was off (not selected), I turned it on. As today is alredy dark, I can't check how it affects the Auto mode during the day. I'll give my feedback tommorow.

^ Curious to see if it activates your low beam/signature DRLs or your high beams now that you have the IPC control.

I would love to try the high beam DRL on my US model, but I don't think my BCM will support it.

Ok, so I've tested the DRL Control. It only allows to turn on or off the lamp that initially is set as DRL.
So I'll keep looking how to change that halogen lamp to sometring else (Signature lights or Signature lights + LED Lows preferable).

Sorry Gents for being off a while; as I have been getting most of my mod fix; hanging with the F150 forum boys.
Please see below link to all of the mods tested by F150 owners, in which a good majority works for our EX also.

Any additional information, or step by step guide, feel free to discuss here, so that all can benefit.

here something that you can maybe add to the spreadsheet

Ford Explorer 2013 Sport

7D0-02-02

7D0-01-01
A221 9001 E916 to ....9011.... (TMC enabled / don´t work on my explorer (maybe hardware needed?) but the option is available)

7D0-01-01
A221 9001 E916 to ....9101.... (EU-E-Call enabled / 0 = US E-Call)

720-01-02
F42C 0862 984C to ....0062.... (Fog-Lamp indicator in instrument cluster OFF, usefull if you like use the Fog-Lamps as DaytimeRunningLamps)

Does anyone know how to active TMC on 2016-2017?
The code provided by Schimi for 2013, doesn't work on my 2017. Instead of activating something it deactivates the cruise control and proximity warning system.

Glad to see you were able to add DRL settings in your IPC.
Try hooking your EX to forscan again and go into IPC module "PIDs", where there are selectable options to choose what can be turned on as DRLs (it may not work for the EX, but it's worth the try).

Unfortunately, the linked google docs is not mine.
Hopefully, member PlatinumExplorer on here can add those to his list.

I tried and there are wierd things happening.

In AS BUILT, default code was 108E (this value is stated everywhere the one for Dedicated DRL).
The only other code that can be writen in AS BUILT is 017F which turns it OFF.
For all the others I get the error "Incompatible configuration".

I leave it as 108E, and I go into IPC module "PIDs", and next to the Daytime Running Ligths I see that is stated "Incorrect value..." instead of Dedicated DRL.

When I open the selectable options, I have this

I try to change it to 10-Dedicated DRL

and I get this:

Then I try to change it 1-None, and it works

And the most weird thing is that none one the rest of the options can be written but 16-Incorrect value or not configured:

Does anyone know, why in our russian cars the 108E in AS-BUILD is related to 16-Incorrect value or not configured and to the halogen lamp?
What would be the code in AS-BUILD for the 10-Dedicated DRL and the Signature Lighting?
Why I can't write the 10-Dedicated DRL in "PIDs"?

Thanks in advance.

I am able to confirm that I was able to use nav while driving in my 16 sport with the code above. Not sure because traffic usually wasn't listed in the area I live, but I don't think it lists it anymore. I will confirm next time I go to the city (I don't go there often but will update when I know for sure). I rather be able to use nav anyway.

Wow, I think @Schimi just saved me about $600 on not having to buy a Lockpick to get nav in motion! :)

Confirming that I entered the above (only) on 2013 XLT and the nav in motion works and so also the phone book in motion.
I made the speed camera change but don't expect to see anything until next in US

Beware the distracted driving laws.
By speed camera change are you referring to the road speed signs appearing on the Navigation screen? If so they show up on mine for most major roads.

Peter

Noted :)
In all seriousness, I have no problem using voice control for the nav. However, the missus isn't happy when she can't use while I'm driving. Happy missus = Happy me!

I don't have any speed cameras near me, only a couple of red light ones. Although...it just occurred to me that I could browse the map to somewhere that does have them and see if they come up - wish I'd thought of that while I was still in the garage! Will do another time.

i can´t test the speedcams, too....

Because at the Ford nav SD for Germany are no speedcams available ( due the laws )....

I tried to change the tire size in my wife's 17 Platinum and when I read the module it came up with an incorrect value. I wonder if something changed for 2017? I'm running version 2.3.6 Beta.

I don't know of anyone that has successfully changed tire size on this generation Explorer. Tire size is located in like 3 modules. One is the PCM which I don't think Forscan has the ability to change in that module. Unless all modules match tire size I think you will get an error.

Any reason these codes should NOT work in a 2014 XLT?

Also, what is the "Nav Speed cameras enabled"? What does that mean?

i think that the codes work on the 2014 XLT, too... but maybe someone could verify it.

with "Nav Speed cameras......" i mean that i had a new option in my nav, where i can enable showing "Speed cameras" (if you drive to fast... i hope you understand what i mean)....
here in Germany it is not allowed to had this kind of function... so the original Ford F5 SD-Card don´t had Speed cameras for Germany installed and i can´t verify the function....
