Is the motor in time, Are you sure your getting spark?

nope no spark at the #6 plug that i tested.

Did you check the rest of the plugs, Maybe your ignition is not sending spark. You could have a bad wire(s) Is your truck electronically controlled or do you have a cap and rotor that runs off the crank shaft?

it has a cap and rotor and no i didnt check but i will check the rest. is it possible that the coil is bad and or the ignition control module ?

Yes. That is possible. Just go down the line and test everything, Check all grounds. My jeep had the same problem, Bad coil.

nope no spark to any plugs.

nope no spark to any plugs.

Check your coil. Then check your ignition wires and module. The cause of no start is your spark issue. Also, Are you smelling fuel on the plugs?

by chance is there a way to test the coil and see if it has gone bad

Take the coil wire off the distrubetor, put a spark plug in the wire and crank

I gotta run. Just search the forum for no spark and take it from there.

ok tried that and no spark. so now i assume the coil is bad. i hope this is the problem. and i want to thank you for the advice on what to try!

welcome shamrock

I just wanted to chime in...

Same troubles here too.

I drove for about 5 minutes from the house and my '93 Exploder with a V6 simply died. The engine simply shut down with no warnings at all and no abnormal sputter, it just shut down. I have complete electrical power to everything I looked at so far. The engine starter cranks over strong and fast but will not start.

I still need to check but I believe there is no spark. Fuel delivery appears fine.

Next step is to pull a spark plug and confirm the no-spark issue. Then try to swap the coil and/or the ignition module.

OP - Sounds like you'll need to do the same if you didn't do so already.
I never needed to test an ignition module before, if I find out how to do so I'll post it here. Failing to find a test I'm just going to try a quick swap.
