Whats up everyone? I just picked up a 1996 Explorer today. Thought i would join here and see what all is up with these things. I have never owned a ford anything before, but i needed a off-road capable vehicle now that i live down at the beach. I dont really plan on making alot of beach runs, but when the weather gets rough and the road gets covered in sand or water, i need to get outta town.
Its a 96 5.0L XLT with the AWD, not 4x4. I guess it will do for now. I got a great deal on it, and couldnt find anything decent for my price. It has a few small issues, but the engine and drivetrain are solid.
Keep an eye out for some tech stuff from me, I will start going through it tomorrow and see if i can find anything that needs replacing... probably just a good tune up and some fresh oil will all it need.
