i just brought a 97 explorer xlt 4x4 (about 2 months ago) and its been diagnosed as there is slipping in the torque converter... any answers on how to fix this? ive been told i need a new tranny?
also if i need a new tranny which ones (i.e only the 5r55e or is ther others that fit) can i bolt up behind the sohc.
i also have the famous timing chain rattle i need to fix. but first things first. i love this car but my husbands been told to just tart it up and sell it..grrr. ok so it has a few probs so do most 10 yr old cars.
