Greetings Explorer People. It's nice to see a site devoted to this vehicle. My Explorer was handed down to me from my son about 5 years ago (Funny, it should be the other way around :) after I retired my dear old 1981 Bronco to a comfortable place on our property. The thing is I know this is probably not the right forum to be asking for some help for a certain problem I'm having with it ( the Explorer ) and I was wondering if you can direct me to where I should be going in this forum to post my problem. Its a transmission leak that is neither from the seals or gaskets. Appreciate any help or guidance as to where and who to ask. Peace. gk

Welcome to this forum! There are a lot of places that fluid could leak. Always add transmission fluid with the engine running or it will come out of the overfill outlet on the top of the transmission.

...And the drip keeps a drippin'...

Greetings. Thanx for the welcomes. Can anyone please tell me where the most common places my tranmission will leak from. The pan bolts are still tight (not over tight) and running my finger around it with engine running doesn't show any signs of leaking the amount that is left on the cardboard I've been placing underneath it when engine starts and runs. The drip is definitly coming from the(right) side of the transmission as shown on the jpeg. If it were coming from a seal (front/back ?) wouldn't it leak the most when the car is in gear and moving and not just idling? Again I don't see any signs of trans fluid on that cardboard other than directly under where the pan is. Any other suggextions where to look? Again, I'd appreciate any help. Thanx. gk
