Hey everyone. Just put our deposit on a White Platinum 2014 Sport. It was crazy hard to find a dealership with the final remaining 2014's before the 15's. They are not taking any more orders at the plant for 2014's. So it should be here around April 28 or so and were really excited. Any tips or experiences from you folks that I need to be looking out for? I have seen the thread about the pre inspection pickup and will have it pulled up when we go to pick it up after it comes in. The only options we have on it is the moonroof/towing package/ and 2nd row bucket seats. We didnt really need any other things other than we may take it and get the windows tinted and get the vent visors. I was told that even though we probably wont use it for towing that the added engine oil cooler is only going to help but how do yall feel about that? I will post pics as soon as I take delivery.

I think you will really enjoy the moonroof. It really seems to give the interior an 'open' feeling. Since it sounds like this Explorer has been sitting on a dealer's lot perhaps it has sat in the rain as well. There have been quite a few posts about water leaks so it might be a good idea to check out the spare tire wheel well for any signs of moisture. Also check and confirm with the dealer that it has the latest MFT software update V3.6.2. On the MFT screen you select Settings (little gear icon), then Help?, then System Information. Then look for the CCPU S/W line and it should show 4.30.13171. That is V3.6.2. If you have the voice activated Navigation, check to ensure the S/D card is either in its slot or with the vehicle. It should show either A3 or A4 on the card. Also ensure that they give you or find the code for the Securilock entry keypad on the driver's door. It should be with the package of booklets that is usually in the glove box. After taking delivery, make sure you register at http://support.ford.com/media/syncmyride/intercept.html so that you will be able to get the latest updates for the MFT.

It hasnt been sitting at the dealer it is at the plant being shipped to the dealer we just put a deposit on it so no one would be able to buy it. thanks for the info about checking for moisture along with the software updates.
