Costed about 400$ and got it from sonicelectronix.com.
Probably my most favorite item for this vehicle as i listen to music other than mainstream.
There's a SD card slot along with a USB slot, (extremely nice to have right on the deck)

Pics don't work. Insert the IMG link the PB has.

I just installed the Bluetooth version in my wife's Ex. But I got mine through Amazon for just over $300:D

I did the bypass relay trick, but I have a thumping in the factory sub every time I turn it on:(

You need to put a resistor inline with the remote wire. I bought a crutchfield wire harness and did not have this problem.

X2.. i"ve heard the same thing because the stock signal to turn in amp on is a lower voltage that the 12v signal the aftermarket units provide. MY buddy has a F-150 that does the same thing.

Pics work, sorry about that.

For my bypass i made it a switch so if i got pulled over or something i could just flick the switch and the movie viewing would turn off.

Switch Up at start up:

Switch down for the brake release:

Walla, movie time (switch back up):

I could have put in a nicer switch but didn't really care, it looks fine anyways.

I looked at the Bluetooth one, but I don't talk on the phone while driving for a long enough period of time and enough for me to actually have the moneys worth for it. 50$ is a good amount to drive up north and use the thing for the passengers to watch a movie.

Funny story, i was plugging in my system at first and when i turned on the truck it would make this screeching noise and i thought it was from the bass. 10 minutes later i realized i bumped the rear windshield wiper knob and it was scraping along the window, (no scratches or anything). but 12 at night and getting ornery to have the thing in was just ticking me off.

You can bypass that unit with a simple 12v relay so you don't have to mess with a switch. I did it that way with my 4200dvd.

I know i could have used a relay, i just liked the switch idea better for if there were a chance i had been pulled over.

I did this, but I either hooked it up wrong or the resistor is too small. I picked it up at Radio Shack, but the biggest I could find was a 1.5. or something:(

I bought a unit just like this about a year ago. Problem is that I got like the last model of the year, which doesn't have the SD card slot or the newer programing (graphics). That really ticked me off since I also found out that the new unit is better priced than the older one!! Oh well what can ya do..

I have a question though. What dash kit did you use to take up the gaps on either side of the radio?

I do not remember, i'll try to figure that out when i get home.

ok, thanks. I just saw something else. Did you say that your controls on your steering wheel work? If so, How did you get it to? I don't have the steering wheel controls but I would like my rear controls to work.

I hadn't messed with the rear controls, I don't like people messing with my music while I drive. They can ask if they want the music changed. I'll look into it if you'd like.

But for the steering wheel module I'd bought this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22808_Axxess+ASWC.html

It works very well. All I had to do was plug it into a headphone jack on the back and it worked.

Ok thanks. Its not a big deal to me if i get the rear controls to work or not but if the option was there I'd probably do it. I just wonder though if that would work with the rear controls since it is practically the same thing as a steering wheel control..

I got this same unit with four Pioneer TS-A6872r speakers. You can get the speakers super cheap on Cowboom.com, and they sound sweet with that unit. Unfortunately, I have had problems with my 3200DVd. I had the tuner go out and then a problem with the screen. Sent it back to Pioneer and I should get it back this week. If you wonder how to do the bypass, go to youtube and type in "Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD Bypass". There is a video that will show you how to install the relay switch in nothing flat.

One of my favorite features is the Sound Retrieval. It cleans up MP3's and adds some bass.

to be honest, my system kicks pretty damn well for stock. if i listen to dubstep the bass is nice and rattles the truck well beyond my needs. again, i used the switch if i happen to get pulled over and can just turn the movie off with a switch rather than fumble with it. have had mine for a month and its working perfect. nice 6 hour drive while everyone enjoyed the trance and enjoyed the mischief 3000 gumball rally movie. nothing negative to say about it so far.

I have this deck and love it! There are a few things that would be nice having, like a usb port in the rear (i think the 4200 has it, but wasn't going to pay an extra 250 for it). My screen did go out on it, started with a green line across the screen (in the middle dammit) and then a blue one on the bottom. i am currently waiting for the new screen to be ship from pioneer to the repair shop.

Its not that hard to just change the mode if that happens. Most of us can do it right from the steering wheel...

You gotta turn your car off anyway, which means once you turn it back on you have to press OK to the warning on the screen to get it to continue playing (the bypass does not bypass the warning confirmation screen).

can you comment on how that unit sounds with the stock speakers( if you still used them when you installed the unit)? im thinking of just getting a new HU instead of speakers(cant decide what ones/ dont know how to install with amp)
