Alright, I'm going to be doing a few things to my lighting with these new projector headlights... First off I'm going to do the mod to keep the low beams on while the high beams are on. (I don't like the idea of my HID's constantly having to turn on and off.)

But here's the tricky mod I want to do...... I want to have my parking lights only trigger the blue LED's and halos.... and the amber lights will turn on as long as my low beams are on.... now how would I go about this?

Also, is Anyone worried at all about being picked on by the cops for the blue LED's?

What blue LEDs? They're white and are barely visible (it's just a small accent). The corners etc are predominantly amber so I'm not really worried about getting pulled over. I'm pretty sure white LEDs are legal anyhow based on the lights in those new Audis. That will all be moot in a few days when the amber LEDs I got on eBay show up and do away with white LEDs altogether.

I've heard of people getting pulled over for having coloured lighting on the front of their vehicles. I've seen blue, green, purple and red. Looks tacky, IMHO.

Oh.. hm.. they look blue in this pic:

Alright... still though.... is this mod possible? I want to get as much light as possible from these lights.

And I think it'll be great having halo's as parking lights, and to make it legal when I'm driving around.. having the amber come on when I need my headlights.

Ummm, hook the parking light wire to the blue LEDs and Halos. Hook the low beam wire to the amber lights.
Unless I'm missing something this seems pretty straightforward.

Should I use relays, or are these lights so 'light' =P on power it doesn't matter what kinda cutting and splicing I do?

Parking light wire? Which one? And that one wire is good enough to distribute power to all the LED's and Halos?

Low beam wire? To directly power the amber's? Or to trigger the relay for them?... wherever that is?

Am I just over-complicating this or what? I read constantly to use relays when changing/adding anything besides stock... so that's kinda why I'm a bit confused.. how the wiring is gonna go Exactly back there. It's already kinda a mess.. wiring isn't my best thing.

Shouldnt need relays for such low power lights.

There is only one parking light wire per side. Use that for ea side halo & led.

Low beam to the ambers..Yes. (Note that the ambers will go out when the high beams are on, but so what?)

They shouldn't, as I'm going to be doing the high/low mod.

Haha...... Anyways... I think I'm gonna forget this... lmao... sounds too complicated.. I'm just going to use the un-used plug for the corner lights to turn on the halo's and LED's.... but this high/low mod.. will definitely be done... now all I gotta do is look around for the instructions again.

I mentioned the "KC Lites" option several times. Look through the other two projector threads for the links. More mention of it in the second thread (i.e. the one in the lighting forum).

I still haven't completed the quad beam mod yet.

Will having HIDs be an issue for this KC Lites solution?

You tell me.

I had HIDs and the kit was recommended to me so there's your hint. :D

Am I seeing something wrong, or do they have the wrong picture?... That would never work..... I hope I'm not mistaken, but aren't both bulbs for high and low H1?

Also, with the Bi-xenon kit's... is the high/low issue even an issue anymore since it's all just triggering a relay for the on and off function, the high/low functions being controlled just by what the harness is putting out, not what the switch is doing??.. because when I pull it back for both high and low, it always goes straight to the high pattern?

Omg.. I am so confused..

Omg.. I am so confused..

You're your own worst enemy!

FWIW, I'm not even sure quad beam is necessary. I went out tonight for the first time with HID and the halogen highs (I don't have the quad kit set up yet). HID overpowers halogen a LOT. You can't even tell the highs are on when you hold the "flash to pass". I'm going to aim my highs down a bit to see if it makes a difference.

I don't have a clue. I drive a 2nd gen. Unlikely though.

The high's probably cast out to the tree's and distant signs.. since the projectors have the "lower half" of the view. Might want to check em out when you're on a not so open road.
Who knows..

Nope. I was impressed with the highs when I was running halogens in the projectors. They just can't keep up with the HIDs, at least to my naked eye.
