I've got money burning a hole in my pocket. The pug shuttle needs new sneakers. I've searched Craig list very few. There's 1 brand new set 235/75/15 with new lugs also jeep black trail hawk factory. For $450. I did not want to spend that. They have 10 miles on them if I buy them I'm getting the rims for free. Any one close to me Josh who has a mud snow or ta let me know I'm showing a conversion for a 28" tire that's 2" and will give me 1" more ground clearance and look good.

There will be clearance issues, but I've never tried to stuff a tire that big on my van so I don't have any answers.

Well I'm almost home with my sneakers today I drove almost 90 minutes to buy 5 jeep Cherokee rims and tires. The tires are cracked and split. But I payed $75.. for all. There 235-75-15 I measured them at 29 inches. The would work on the rear and be tight. The front are close real close but rolled lip would be in order. I'm trying to clean the road grind off the back and break clean ant cutting it. They have monster meat look. It's suspose to get 75 by Sunday I might bolt them on to see how bad the need trimming . Walmart has a super sale on a mud rock trail tire $88.00 but the smallest size is 235.
There called Nanking n889 mud star. 4 wheel mad review test these tires against tires 2 to 3 times more. These babies went down in mud, rock gravel roads fire roads beaches ect. Never got stuck never aired down Esther a real tuff off road tire. I'm looking for a good off road tire to go camping and a tuff tire is a plus.

Nice find, post some pictures.

Ok tomarrow I'll snap some shots. How can I clean up the back of the rims there oily greasy muck. I went threw 2 cans of brake clean and just skimmed the serface. Go big meat at 235 or small 215/225.

235 would look nice. Brake parts cleaner is what I used the clean the grease off my new axle. Maybe engine degreaser then wash them with a pressure washer and hot water.

Thanks,I got an electric washer, but I'll take it to a self car wash and do it that way.

While monster meat installing this week can I just slip in a set of dice in the front with out bleeding and takeing apart the brakes. The tire job alone is going to wear me out. I used the tire converter going from 215 70 14 to 235 75 15 and the 3:73 rear I'm going to drop to a 3:33 . I'm getting 10/14 mpg on a good day so this might give me 15 mpg.
Couple things, I don't understand why the brakes would have to be removed, maybe there is something I am not thinking of so if you can provide more information on what you are thinking it would help. Are you going to trim the fenders and use fender flares if the tires don't clear?

I thought while I had the tires off I slip on a new set of disk pads. These tires are heavy. Last year I had about an 1/8. And the newer pads might help stopping the van with those heavy tires. I have no brake issues but I was thinks it wouldn't hurt. I thought if I could slip a screw driver in and push the caliper open and clip in a new set. Since I didn't crack the line I didn't have to do everything. It's been 20 years since I replaced brakes that's all. They want $100 per set. Just adding some extra work. I got to get my tape and cutting wheels tomarrow . It rained again today.

No need to remove the brake line, pull the caliper with the brake line attached and use a C clamp to compress the piston.

Thanks that what I thought from shop class. Hopefully today I get no rain. I'll pick up a roll of painters tape and cutting wheels. I saw sone use a dremile and others use a 4" I have both. Maybe I'll pick up a die cutter hf has them on sale air power from $7.99 $17.00

Tommarow should be the day,if my memory serves me explorers came with 235-75-15 tires stock. If this is so would some one measure the worth at the bottom of the fender opening to the top of the fender. I guess I'm looking for the dia of the front and rear fender to give me an idea on him much room Ford left for the fender compaire to tire dia. The aerostar Wheel wells are not round so if I need to trim I have an idea. I believe the rear is fine just the lip needs rolling but the front of the fender at the bumper needs trimming the tire is almost there. Here's my profile pic pre operation tommarow. Any help I'll take.

Would the sliding door clear a flare, and what clearance amount is there?

If the tires stick out some I'll install rear, front flaps. The tires are 1/2 3/4 wider than stock but are 29" dia. Stock is just under 26". This should give me 1 1/2 extra ground clearance. The big o big foot all season mud has a nice self cleaning lug and is a real truck tire. Not a wrangler sa that's on my new trail hawk. Bonus is big o gives 3 years 50,000 replacement no pro rate. After 3 years then a standard pro rate. Good all over the country. They have 4 different tire chains plus these are toyo mud all season were so if big o is no longer toyo will replace them. Out in Vegas trail camping is rock that's why I went this route. I watched on utube jeep tested these on there keeps in mud snow great cleaning and since it's all season not the mud lug drone. Tomarrow it's big foot time.

For ***** and giggles I just bought an East wood mig 140 to start building my bumpers and a swing away tire rack aerostar bumpers are Fiberglass. I need to go and get a gas bottle. What's nice the 110v mig can do aluminum also.
