'07 XLT Sport-Trac
Hello, I am a new member to this site. I bought my '07 Explorer Sport Trac last year in April as a winter-driving upgrade from a Mustang.

I found this site through Google while I was looking for information on 4x4 driving. This morning in Colorado there was a pretty good snow storm going on, so I switched my Sport Trac into 4x4 mode for better traction. While I was making a sharp right turn out of the drive way, the truck was making hard jerking motions. I thought that maybe the 4x4 was broken, but after reading some posts on here (and other forums) I found out it was just binding and nothing really serious (as in mechanical problems that need to be fixed).

Anyway, this forum looked interesting so I decided to join up. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you!

Welcome To The Forum! Don't make a habit of letting the front end bind up.

Now that I know what it is I can avoid doing it in the future.

If you were on dry pavement that would explain it, since some of the 4wd systems need slippage to work without binding.
