New to forum

First time in a forum. Just saying Hi. I found a 2000 Ford Ranger for my son. I'm an aircraft A&P mechanic trying to fix a 4R44e transmission that has forward gears but no reverse. I've read that the band might be broken I bought a rebuild kit with reverse band. After Christmas I'll get in to it. Wish me luck.

Welcome to this forum! The rear band controls reverse & low gear, so if it's the band it would be missing both gear ranges. How many miles does it have?
