Newbie needs some advice on wheels

To start, Hello everyone.

Just bought a 2000 North Face Explorer, loving it already, and as I don't go off road would like to change the wheels. I would like 20''s. Can't find anywhere on British sites that tell you the offset and Bolt pattern.I would like to know so when I go into the places I don't look stupid and know a little of what I'm asking for.

Also I have read on other posts about companies not liking putting bigger wheels on, is this a danger issue?

If anyone knows the offset and bolt pattern and if I need spacers it would be very helpful.

From what I can see the bolt pattern is 5 * 4.5 with an offset of 44mm.
