I just went past Pendel last week. There are nice shiney NEW "no trespassing" signs posted at a couple of the entrances that specifically list motorcycles, atv's and 4wd's on them. What a bummer.

Pine Barrens are still a good idea though. Good thing it is raining this weekend... the area needed it. Looks like the soonest I may be down that way is in maybe 2 weeks, depending on what else hits the schedule....

Well about 5 min. from pendell is a great spot (for small wheel base trucks like our explorers) I love the twin bridges it is alot more challenging then pendell its like a mini rubicon. there is a creek there wich i do all the time we follow it for about an hour ( the time includes pictures) this is a spot for alot of pictures ...full flex!
truthfully i like the barrrens but too much sand for me. your air filter has so much sand in it when you get back.

August would be cool i would have my winch on by then and maybe new springs. i go back there every weekend so if anyone wants to do that just let me know.

I would love to

My explorer is still stock, Im working on the 2 inch suspention lift. I would love to come up to PA and 4 wheel. Mabe we can get together or get a few of us( explorers) together and run up there.

Hey guys

Mind if I come along? I never knew about Pendel (if I had I would have checked it out).. I would love to see what mine can do and learn. I promise to have my tow hooks on and my own tow strap if someone has a winch. I just want to stay local for now. The only offroading I have done is some trails in the Poconos and Island Beach State Park on LBI (not really offroading).

I prolly wont be able to make but you never know.

I am tying to get a trip up there before school starts me and a couple of guys from BMJA (blue Mountain Jeep Alience) since BMJA basicly owns paragon.
they want to keep it small like 5 trucks so far we got 3 maybe 4 but you are more then welcome to come it will prolly be just a day trip ill keep you posted

Most likely im going to keep it local Saturday so if any one wants to join me on a run at the double bridges let me know

Tank, as I mentioned in my return message, I won't be able to make paragon this weekend, due to having to work. :(

J91, when are you and the BMJA group heading to Paragon? I'd be interested in joining ya'll. I still haven't really tried out these springs yet.

Jim (J91Ford)

I live in Newtown/Holland area of Bucks.. like I said in the PM I am a newby to fourwheeling and would love to try it out.. I'm going to Island Beach (on LBI) this Sat and Sun for some Striper fishing and some much needed R&R. But would love to do something the week of the 22nd-25th.. let me know... I think it may be a good idea for me to keep it local until I get to know things better.

Thanks
Karol

paragon

the deal is .......... paragon has a fee of $35.00 per truck + 5.00 per passenger (per day ). untill you become a member and you can only do that thru a club... then the price drops.

there will be a trip on the 26th with pa jeeps ... i have to get details it may only be open to jeeps but i was given a special invitation so it cant be too strict...ill keep you all posted

i will be doing either the second part of rattlesnake ( rated 8-9) or voodoo rated (9).... i will give a trail report monday.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

If you do the Voodoo without me I will never speak to you again ;) Make sure Jen has the camera in one eye and the video in the other. Damn I wish I could go with ya. What club is sponsoring this trip? Will you see Jason and... mmm... the other guy. You know the only 2 best spotters on the east coast. And remember, “give it some gas.” And the other classic “I have some good friends that would shot me before I get that desperate.” Say hi to everyone for me.

East Coast 4x4 Experience is also doing a run to Paragon on 26-Aug. which I am planning on attending. Does anyone know a good informative web site for Paragon with maybe some good maps and good details?

Details on joining Paragon seem to be a $15 sticker (annual)purchased through a recognized club. I joined EC4x4E and got the sticker through them. I believe the sticker drops the daily truck fee from $35 down to $15, and the $5 passenger fee stays the same.

I hope to become somewhat familiar with the place.

CALLING ALL EXPLORERS!

a run at the twin bridges is being formed
the twin bridges is 5 minutes from pendell. Not sure of the date yet but the week of the 22-25 Let Me know if you want to join us so far it is:

J91ford (me)
ExplorerEB96

The trails are not too difficult but if you want difficult there is plety of it there. not much mud(but again if you want it it is there, and is pretty dificult) some rocks alot of off center type of stuff so you will give your suspension a work out :D

[Edited by J91FORD on 08-11-2000 at 02:28 PM]

If you go to my profile you will see a picture of one of the trails and you can see how much of a work out it gives your suspension

Tom i am not positive when we are going but you dont have to pay anything to get in i will keep you posted about it.

Thanks, Jim! I'm free either the weekend of the 19th or the 26th. I would choose one or the other, but definately not both.

Metjeep, as noted above, I'm available the 26th. I know that you're going with a group, so I'll stop short of trying to barge in on you. I'll keep my eyes open for an informative site for you (and myself for that matter).

Actually, I'd like to see both of you there if it is possible. In fact, the more, the merrier. :)

Jim, if we can get a small group at the same time that Metjeep is there, we could possibly join up either during or after wheeling.

Karol, I don't know much about Paragon, other than that they have some trails that are rated according to difficulty. Perhaps after you get a feel for what your truck can do, you'll want to try something there.

I suppose I could drive out on the 25th, do the bridges, and then go to paragon on the 26th if the truck is still in one peice. :) I'd probably stay overnight on the PA side this time, rather than cross over into NJ. That's not to say that NJ is bad, its just that PA is a bit closer.

Tom,
we could not go to paragon the same time because it is a park that is basicly rented out. the group that metjeep has it rented out and you would have to pay to get in with that group. i dont know if you could even get in because it might just be a club thing.

Baltomore four wheelers (B4W)(who we went with before) And Blue Mountain Jeep Allience (BMJA) switch places every now and then BMJA owns Paragon and B4W owns some other park and they switch parks(that is from what i understand).

I can not get a hold of the guys that i know from BMJA because like i said before they are at Camp Jeep.
But i will let you know if it is going to happen and when .

The site for Blue Mountain Jeep Allience is http://www.BMJA.org

Here is a map of Paragon, it is not updated with the new trails http://www.offroaders.com/album/paragon/paragon0499/paragon-trails.htm

I still rather stay local the 26th at hit the twin bridges if anyone else wants to join its always a great time .
