no low range

I have a 1991 explorer XLT and can not get it to go into low range. It will go into 4X4 with no problem , can anybody direct me in the right direction

Put the truck in Neutral, hit the brake and shift it from 4HI into 4Lo. If that doesn't work then you have some underlying problems with your 4x4 system.
