If you are really that scared (not that I blame you), just try bump starting it. If you don't have it on a hill, have someone pull you. Shade tree fuel pressure test is to simply push the pin in the fuel rail. If it sprays out, you have pressure. If it dribbles, you do not.
If you do jump the solenoid, wear gloves, and use a screw driver. There is no risk of shock if you don't touch any metal. I wouldn't do it without someone in the drivers seat holding the clutch and brake.
Once you get the starter going, it'll be easier. If no start, spray starting fluid in a vacuum hose. If it fires, you have no fuel.
Also another thing to check is that you re connected the clutch petal switch. I don't know if you replaced the master when you had the tranny off, but its something to check.
