No Sound Screen Acoustic Glass?

Front side glass? Methinks not, unless it's just not shown on the glass. The cabin is quiet, but I think the Escape was quieter.

Which post are you replying to Mike?
On my Aviator there is no indication of acoustic glass shown on the side windows or the windshield, the same as many others here.

That is from Ford media. I would hope they would know before posting it. There are more sites also but I would think they would be as reliable as any. Did you ever check your Escape side windows? I know you said your Explorer side are not marked Acoustic.

Speaking of build sheets, is there place to round one up? My Ram had one. They're sometimes handy.

I looked for it on the web with no luck. Your dealer should be able to get one I would think.

Well, I'm not sure how definitive this is, but here's the top edge of the front passenger window:

The driver's side front is the same. The back windows don't have the groove, just a slightly crowned edge.

My 2021 Platinum build date Sept 9 2021 has a similar grove on the front windows.

My dealer provided me with my Aviator's "Detailed Vehicle Specification" list and there is no mention at all of 'glass' with the exception of "B2GAE Privacy Glass".

Well, isn't that useful?

You indeed do have an acoustic windshield as ALL 2020 and newer Explorers are supposed to have. Very bizzare for those of us who have no acoustic markings.
Not ALL are supposed to have it, it’s listed as optional on the XLT and lower trims.

The 2020 Order guide showed the front side windows as standard. It says nothing about any others including the windshields. At this point, who knows.

I have only one theory at this point, and somewhere, can't recall exactly where, Ford stated that they went with thicker acoustic glass on the new explorer than the old ones. Maybe ford decided that plain old laminate, but a thicker piece of it, it better than a thinner piece of acoutic laminate and so they are getting better results in the sense of go big or go home.

Just a guess on my part.

It is interesting that if I understood some of the other posts correctly, that the Aviator does not have acoustic markings. That says something. The Aviator is in a luxury class where acoustic glass is all but standard on any vehicle in that class. The aviator is known to have an incredibly quiet cabin as all cars in that class pretty much all have.

Ford could not skimp on glass on an Aviator and compete with the other models in that class. So if an Aviator has no acoustic markings, that is very interesting.

I have no idea any more. this is from the 2021 order guide. Below is from the 2022 order guide. 3 years and all are different. None make any sense.

This thread was started about the 2021 in which Ford shows it as an option on some models, standard on the Timberline and up. It absolutely mentions the windshield.

The 2022 Aviator Order Guide specifies Acoustic Glass as standard equipment for the front-row side windows on all Aviators, but no mention of the windshield.

FWIW, I looked closely at the front side-window glass and the windshield on my 2022 Aviator and didn't see any mention of Acoustic Glass on the markings. However, there is a Lincoln logo within the markings, so the glass is not exactly the same as the Explorer's glass.

Or it’s exactly the same with the addition of a logo.

Lincoln certainly mentions it on the website.

All the Aviators, regardless of trim, have acoustic-laminated first row glass according to both the Canadian and US Lincoln websites when you check the Exterior features. As far a the brochures go, the words 'acoustic', 'laminate', or glass don't even come up in a search. I found the word 'windshield' came up 3 times and all had to do with windshield wipers.
I'm not even sure at this point if auto glass replacement businesses would provide the same answers.
It seems this is another thread destined to go on and on. :)
