If you want to talk about possibilities, I'm sure it is possible for the PCM to just go out like that. Unless something is being miscommunicated, this:
1st thing I'd probably do is verify no power to the relay. One lead (Black/Yellow on my '92) is hot at all times. If there really isn't power at this lead, then I'd move up to the next component in the circuit -- the fuse. Is there power at the fuel pump fuse? Is the fuse good?
If there is power at this lead, the next thing would be to turn the key on and check the red wire at the fuel pump relay. This wire comes from the EEC relay and should be hot with the key in "run."
makes me believe it isn't in the PCM. As noted, the PCM is responsible for closing the fuel pump relay, but it isn't responsible for getting power to the relay.but the fuel pump relay seemed to be getting no power.
