Well we had a bad weekend and will no longer have an explorer. We have decided to not replace our 2022 explorer and just replace the truck so I won’t be posting about that pesky rear camera washer after all. Good luck guys and gals.

As long as you are OK, that's the good thing. Hopefully, insurance will help. If you don't mind, what happened?

Was electrical as far as we know. Nothing related to the vehicles. We are fully insured on all fronts. Everyone is ok. Just a little rattled.

Critters OK?

just glad everyone is ok. stay safe and usually with these X's it isnt goodbye its see you soon ;)

That’s what it appears to have been. It looks like possibly the wire for the electric range was chewed inside the wall and it arced and burned through the wall to the outside. Purely speculation as it looks like a bomb went off but that’s our best guess.

Sorry Mike I misread that. We actually lost a six month kitten. That was her domain. I had just checked on her 90 min before the fire broke out. All was well in there. I tapped her on the head and said see ya tomorrow. Unfortunately tomorrow never came for her.

We are opting to just replace the f150 with a 2023 lariat. Not gonna get another explorer any time soon.

That's a shame. I love cats. But at least all else is well. Stay safe.

Wow! That's good news about the insurance too. Good luck with getting back on the road with whatever vehicle you choose to replace your Explorer. :)

So sorry to hear you lost your kitty! Along with your garage and 2 vehicles. Glad you and your family are OK. That is a rough weekend for sure.

So sorry for the loss of your fuzzy-face. That's been my fear - we have a fire while the pups are in their crates. In that situation, they have no chance. I'd go in after them in half-a-heartbeat. The cats will hide, so there would be little chance for them beyond luck.

Yeah unfortunately by the time we saw the fire on our cameras it was too late for her. The building was full of black smoke. Luckily it wasn’t super cold out because we crate the three dogs in there when the temps get bitter cold. It was just an unfortunate situation. Lulu will be missed. She was a good little cat. Our adult male cat is lost now without her.

Many folks are surprised that animals can feel more of a connection to each other. It's heart-breaking to watch our dogs as they realize their buddy is gone. We let them participate in the funerals when we send one to the bridge. Almost every time, it seems they're remembering the romps, snoozing in the sun, getting good scratches. They all react differently, but they react.

While their spirits have crossed the 'bridge', all of my 'friends' are at home. 5 little urns on the mantle.
