Parked the 02 in August because the timing chain wore a hole in the front cover. It ran when I parked it but then the battery died. Now it just clicks! I am hoping the battter from my Fiesta was just to weak to crank over the V8. Anyway now it is just sitting and I've run out of patience and money for it. Anyone want to take it off my hands:D

Medford Oregon huh? I'm in SE Idaho I wouldn't mind driving up for a free v8 truck ;).

Generally the "clicking" you're referring to would be the solenoid for the starter, the solenoid is engaging, so it's attempting to mesh the pinion with the flywheel, but it doesn't have enough wattage to actually turn the engine over.

In other words yeah probably it's that your battery from your fiesta was too weak.

If the fiesta were running then the battery should not have been too weak since the alternator would have been helping it. If it was running and still just clicked id be willing to bet your jumper cables are just to small gauge wire, causing too much resistance to get the power to the starter.

How many miles, 4 wheel drive, overall condition, are you serious? I live only an hour away from Medford.

I tried trickle charging the battery but It would not take a charge. It is not that old so maybe there is some pro rated warranty on it. Ill have to check tonight. the rig ran (a bit noisy) in the fall but we had some pretty cold nights since then.

I think it might be more of a project car than I want to get involved with. But I'll keep it in mind -- I don't have a garage to put it in and work on it, and I'm up in the mountains from you (and since I'm a bankrupt home builder thanks to the economic collapse, I'm short on money). But my experience when a Ford just goes "click" when you go to start it, is that there is corrosion between the battery post and battery cable.
