Nu Finish once a year wax

Yeah, it's enough do to the X multiple times. You get two clay bars, a big bottle of quick detailer, a microfiber cloth, and a sample bottle of wax that's good enough for at LEAST one full wax. The kit is called "Smooth Surface Clay Kit" it's in a red and black box with a Mustang on the front (at least that's what mine looks like, but they could've changed the box).

But yeah, you wont be disappointed. It takes a while, since you have to wash the truck, clay bar the truck, then wax it, but it's worth it.

Smooth as Silk!

OK, so I finally got around to doing the clay bar on my X. Not bad since I've had the kit for a month! I used the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit. It comes with:

2 clay bars ( I only used 1)
Bottle of Quik Detailer (used as lubricant)
Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel
Sample Bottle of Cleaner Wax (I did the whole X and there is some left)

I have been washing/waxing cars for 30 years and never knew this existed. Thanks to EF I now know about and I'm never gonna look back! This is absolutely amazing. I have never felt anything so smooth in my life. After using the clay bar and before waxing the finish was a smooth as glass.

I was told by FloridaState to plan on a long day because you have to wash the X, clay bar the X, and wax the X. It was a long day. 9 hours long to be exact. But I also did the windows, inside and out, vacuumed, and cleaned the mats. Hey, I'm unemployed I had nowhere to go!

Here are some pics of the completed job. I still can't believe how this stuff works.

If you have never used this, you have got to try it. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it.

I don't know about that stuff. I would be a little leery using no water. I would think that the dust/dirt would scratch the finish.

Waterless car washes, if the product is specifically made for such an application, and directions are followed, are fine.

I'm a big fan of Optimum No-Rinse.

For future reference for you guys getting into claying your trucks. Post-Clay is a perfect time to polish, before you put wax on. You'll really bring out the shine in the paint and remove any small scratches without worrying about rubbing contaminants all over the paint during an already abrasive step.

mkmcfrlnd, thank you. I guess your right, If the directions are followed. People are using these products so they must work. Sometimes it's difficult to teach an old dog new tricks. Hey I learned the clay bar trick so who knows!

Looks good! And yeah, when I said it takes a long time, I wasn't kidding lol. I still need to do mine again, but I just haven't had the time to with summer classes and everything. It definitely makes the smoothest paint job you'll ever feel; I couldn't keep my hands off of it once it was finished, it was just SO smooth. And you'll probably notice that the wax job will last longer because of this.
But I'm glad you got around to it. It's well worth the time and effort!

Too funny. I couldn't keep my hands off it either! It did make for a long day and my back was screaming by the time I finished but, like you said, it is well worth it.

Well, I finally got around to it. Took me damn near all day, and I still didn't finish! I have to do the roof tomorrow, and I also want to polish up all the chrome.

I snapped a few pictures before it got dark, but I was only done with one side of it at that point, so it's only of one side. I'll try and get some better ones later.

Looks great and well worth it. I ran out of daylight, so the roof is tomorrow!

Great job guys- looks really really nice!

For chrome- get some wadding- like the Eagle One Nev-R-Dull, they sell it at Wal-Mart, etc... It's only about $7 per can, and you get a lot of wadding in there. For those not familiar, just tear off a section, polish with it, work it in good, then buff off. Works amazing, and I think easier than the chrome polish from Mothers, Megs, etc....

This is the best pic I have of Snowball after polishing the chrome on the bumpers and the rear 1/4 lower panel. That one takes some work...

Rondo- if you get some scratch-X you can get that white scuff/paint transfer off your rear bumper easily...

Oh and on the black part of the bumpers, it may appear dirty or like there's bugs on it or something, but it's clean. The paint is just peeling. I need to hit those again sometime soon because they're getting pretty bad.

Looks great! Makes me want to do mine again. You reminded me that I didn't do my roof either. Maybe this weekend I'll attack the roof and just keep going and do the rest of the truck again.

VERY Clean EX. Great job man on keeping that gen 2 lookin new still. Does anyone know whats good to give plastic trim like on the outter edges of the rear bumper, Mirrors and vents on the hood looking shiney? I've used tire shine which works pretty damn good.

Wow, that stuff does a sweet job! With no water? That is amazing. My truck is covered with dust right now and conventional thinking has me wanting to put water on it to prevent scratching. I'm old school and don't know if I could wrap my mind around "washing" the truck without water. Hey, I was skeptical about using a clay bar to make it smooth so who knows? Your X looks real good, keep up the good work!

Junk, look else where. There are tons of stuff better, and definitely smell better to work with.
