OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

If your asking if I'll partake in a bidding war, no. I'll pay what's asked and that's fine; but feel free to keep price gouging yourself publicly. You've got to remember these aren't magical pipes; they free up some horsepower and are stronger than the stock manifolds which are prone to failure. Won't be winning any drag races after putting these on. At this point if I was Carlover I'd sell them to you for 1000 dollars just based on your enthusiasm to spend "top dollar".

no offense but I not only PM'd him first, but brought this whole thing about. Don't try to steal them out from under me, that's pretty unscrupulous.

Pretty sure you were second ;)

I'll just keep the manifolds...I must of missed it, are these discontiuned all together?

They are back on ebay again. But now cause all the hype their god damn $1300 now. Forget that bullshit. Glad my shop is acriss the street from al's headers gonna just got get a set of torque monsters. That was a good run of the headers before them damn *******s took the price to the max. They are no way better than torque monsters and they are now double the price. I know people have a hard time getting torque monsters so i might buy a couple sets and sell some to a few guys that need them. I just walk over and talk to al he makes me headers without a deposit.

Nothing like price gouging on headers!

Looking at that sellers "sold" history for that item it seems they sold 3 of 4 @ $399 and the last was priced at $1399.

Clearly an opportunistic seller taking advantage of the low supply and high demand. I would do exactly the same if I were that person and realized that I might have the last set of headers on eBay and that there was active demand for them.

I came across this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-FORD-30...ADER-T-BIRD-/191202906301?fits=Model:Explorer

Sellers claims they fit our explorers, but im not sure.

This is the seller I bought my OBX headers from: http://www.ebay.com/usr/motorsportauctions?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754

Maybe you guys can ask them when they might have more in stock.

If you can actually get this done, I'd absolutely be interested, based on all this feedback it seems like TMH is the way to go..

Stop talking about torque monsters. The guy that makes them doesnt care otherwise hed still be making them. They are irrelevant now unless you are buying used and even then thats rare.... Even when the guy was making them people didnt know how long they would have to wait.

Thats what made the OBX headers so appealing, copied design, available immediately, and far cheaper + plus no waiting BS or trying to get in contact with some random guy.

Your best bet is to get in contact with the OBX distributor and request they make another batch or find out where they are in the process.

I wasn't talking about them except in reply to the guy above me. He said he was going to go get them made, did you see that post?

I did send a message to OBX inquiring about another run of these, seems like there is plenty of interest.

Yes, I saw that post....

Im telling YOU that investing any amount of time in torque monsters is a lost cause.

Maybe that other guy can get some made because "he knows the guy" and "can do it with no deposit" but you arnt him and that sounds like a very localized/specific to him situation.

But yeah, contacting OBX is the best thing to do.

gotcha.. I'm pissed I missed out on all these parts.. Back in 2006 my parents gave me a 98 XLT, my first car. I feel like had I known 10 years later I would have another Explorer I'd have jumped on all the Explorer Express parts that have been long discontinued. I did manage to buy the last new MAC intake for the 5.0 and I found a new front hitch in Canada that was also old stock but parts are getting really hard to come by for these trucks.

I'll keep everyone updated if/when OBX gets back to me.

the guy who sold torque monster headers got them made in Anaheim by al's headers he didn't make them himself and he gave the rights to al's headers when he got a better job. Don't make your self look silly when I get my tax return next week and pop up with headers from torque monster I was the one in the original thread that walked over there and took the pics of them being made. You should check on my post's before you say I cant get torque monsters. You gonna be asking me for some when I got a few sets. I work for OCRV paint and service goggle maps it and google maps al's headers Anaheim and see where my shop is compared to his. I pass his shop everday to go to McFadden dale hardware. I know his daughter who runs the office. And yes his customer service sucks but it helps that I am a local business guy in his same neighborhood.

When I do get them I will post on here I am not gonna put them on ebay because SCREW THEM AND THEIR FEE"S hahaha. but check here and on craigslist Anaheim CA and look for them to pop up. since there is still a demand for them I will get a few sets made. I will talk to him and see if he will let me distribute them. If so I will post them on my facebook for RAD motorsports.
But don't think I will get them light speed it will take me probably about 3-4 weeks per order. I think I will do 2 sets first and see how fast they go.

I never said you couldn't get them. Only that others couldnt. I hope you do get some made, I wont need any as I already have OBX headers installed.

I dont believe I made myself look silly, its quite impossible to get the damn headers regardless of who makes or sells them. I dont know why a person would subject themselves to waiting months, dealing with crap customer service and then paying a lot more.... thats why I advise against them.

But what you are saying does sound like an ordeal if im being honest.

It does sound a little involved but like I said before I'd buy a set if I could

Its not all that involved i just walk in and tell him what i want and place an order kinda like back before internet shopping. I was just talking to my buddy that i prerunn with and he said he emailed the dude charging 1300 on ebay and its cause he doesnt want people ordering anymore till he gets another batch delivered. So at some point the obx should pop back up to but its getting hard to just find them in stock for and old ass suv like ours. But like i said i am gonna go talk to them cause my buddy said if i get the TM headers before the obx come back he will just get them from me.

I also need another set for another explorer prerunner i am building so i already have a need for about 4 sets on my own.

I just bought a used set of torque monsters today. I emailed OBX three days ago and they told me possibly 6-8 weeks before they have more instock, but no guarantees.

I messaged OBX sometime last week and have had no response from them.
I also messaged JBA and they guy from JBA said the only one he knew of was the TMH.

If this happens I might be interested in a set of gt40 non-p headers with a bigger outlet
